Updating our policy on email signature blocks and other communications

Colleagues,

Earlier this summer, we wrote you about a state legislative budget proviso and subsequent Kansas Board of Regents directive related to email signature blocks. In that communication, we shared a new university policy designed to clarify our responsibilities under the proviso and KBOR directive.

Since then, a number of you have asked questions about this policy. To help address these questions, and to further align with a Kansas Department of Administration memo on this topic, we have updated the policy with additional guidance related to signature block usage in email, videoconferencing platforms and other forms of communication needed to conduct university business. The updated policy is available in our Policy Library.
