Mission, vision and values
The University of Kansas strategic plan serves as a roadmap for KU's work in education, service and research and will help us achieve our aspirations as a leading research institution. Additionally, our strategic plan ensures we are aligned with the strategies and requirements of various partners, accrediting boards and governance bodies.
The university's plan was officially launched in fall 2022 and established a university-wide vision, values and metrics.

The acronym "IRISE" spells out the first letter of each of the university's five values:
