Mourning the tragic loss of a Jayhawk

Jayhawks,

The University of Kansas is mourning the loss of Sarah Milgrim, a KU graduate who was tragically killed in last night’s attack at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C.

I have had the honor this morning of learning about Sarah from members of our community who knew her at KU and who were aware of the meaningful life she had been living as a KU alumna. I encourage you to read the heartfelt remembrances offered by KU Hillel and Chabad at KU, which paint the picture of a beautiful soul who, in true Jayhawk spirit, was inspired to improve the world around her.

In the face of such senseless violence, I know our university will come together to support each other and honor Sarah’s memory.
