Julie Murray named interim vice chancellor for public affairs

Colleagues,

As many of you know, we recently announced that Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs Reggie Robinson would be leaving the university for a new position with the Kansas Health Foundation.

In light of Reggie’s departure, I am pleased to announce that Julie Murray, my chief of staff, will serve as interim vice chancellor for public affairs, effective today, while we work to identify a new permanent vice chancellor. Julie will continue to serve as chief of staff while serving as interim vice chancellor.

I suspect many of you are familiar with Julie and the terrific expertise she has brought to our team since joining the Office of the Chancellor in 2018. We are fortunate to have someone of her caliber in this interim role, and I have the utmost confidence she will enable us to continue our important work during this transition.

In the meantime, we have launched an external search for a permanent vice chancellor for public affairs. While there is no set timetable for this search process, I expect it to move fairly quickly during the coming weeks.

Please join me in welcoming Julie to her new interim role. I look forward to working with her – and each of you – as we continue to move the university forward.

Respectfully,

Doug
