Announcing the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Search Committee

Colleagues,

Last August, I shared with you that we would begin a nationwide search for our next provost and executive vice chancellor in spring 2019. I am writing today to inform you that we are initiating that process and have established the search committee that will lead the effort.

I am delighted to report that Michelle Mohr Carney, Dean of the School of Social Welfare, and Steven A. Soper, Foundation Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Mechanical Engineering, have agreed to co-chair this committee. Joining Dean Carney and Professor Soper on the committee are the following individuals:

The committee will use the services of R. William Funk and Associates, a national executive search firm that has assisted us with numerous successful searches in the past.

The committee will have its first meeting later this month. We will keep you updated on the committee’s progress.

This is an exciting and important search for the University of Kansas. I am confident this position will attract strong candidates from across the country, which is a testament to the work you are doing to make KU a leading public research institution and a proud member of the Association of American Universities.
