Bold Aspirations

A Strategic Plan for the University of Kansas

Bold Aspirations, the strategic plan for The University of Kansas, is the result of the coordinated effort of over a thousand participants within the KU community. For almost a year, several diverse committees worked together to develop a plan focused on six specific goals and four overarching strategic themes. The plan serves as a guide for KU over the next five years.

Bold Aspirations builds on the strategic initiative planning that began in November, 2009 when Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little created three task forces to identify strategies for advancing the University of Kansas in the areas of research engagement and student recruitment, retention and success. You can read more about the mission of these task forces in her message to campus announcing the initiative.

The reports of these task forces and the chancellor's comments on their findings appear below. Provost Jeff Vitter used the work of these groups to inform the strategic planning process. You can learn more about the planning process at the Strategic Planning site. For the complete strategic plan, and to track implementation of the plan, visit boldaspirations.ku.edu.
