Bold
Aspirations
Our strategic plan sets out the new, higher expectations we have for ourselves as a university. It guides our decisions on everything from the creation of a vibrant new general education curriculum to our efforts engaging more faculty members in cutting-edge scholarship and research.
Far
Above
To achieve KU’s bold aspirations, KU Endowment launched Far Above: The Campaign for Kansas. The campaign seeks support to educate future leaders, advance medicine, accelerate discovery, and drive economic growth. With two years left, Far Above is more than 80 percent toward its $1.2 billion goal.
Changing for Excellence
From energy to office supplies, we’re transforming key functions and auditing resources to fulfill our responsibility to be good stewards of taxpayer and tuition dollars. The savings are redirected to our strategic plan for new research and education initiatives.
Jayhawks for Higher Education
Jayhawks for Higher Education communicates the needs of the university and higher education to the Kansas Legislature. Alumni advocacy is a longstanding tradition of the KU Alumni Association as an independent nonprofit organization. Informed advocates help strengthen the university.

Chancellor's Vision

The mission of the University of Kansas is to lift students and society by educating leaders, building healthy communities, and making discoveries that change the world.

We will do that by raising the expectations we have for ourselves, the aspirations we have for our state, and the hopes we have for our world.

Task Force on Sexual Assault

Chancellor Gray-Little has formed a task force of students, faculty, and staff to recommend how the university can better prevent and respond to sexual assaults. You can learn more about the task force and submit your recommendations at sataskforce.ku.edu.

KU is in the midst of a comprehensive effort to ensure the university is ranked among the top tier of public international research universities.

Through Bold Aspirations, our strategic plan, we're changing the way we prepare students for success. We're fostering research and scholarship across all disciplines. And we're sharing the benefits of a flagship university with our state and world.

This effort is supported by Far Above: The Campaign for Kansas, as well as our initiative to reduce administrative costs, Changing for Excellence.
